Meet Meghan Monarch
Romance readers who love stories that are flutter-worthy, self-driven, and a little different every time will want to get to know Meghan Monarch, an indie author writing across multiple romance sub-genres with heart, humor, and a whole lot of personality.
Meghan’s stories are built to make you feel something—whether it’s butterflies, laughter, or that can’t-put-it-down kind of connection to her characters. Because she writes across genres, you never quite know what you’re going to get, but you do know it’ll deliver on emotion, authenticity, and characters who chase what they want.
A Michigan-based author, Meghan writes from home alongside her dog, Finnick—a very cool standard poodle rocking a colored mohawk. When she’s not crafting love stories, she’s diving into fandoms, blasting loud music, laughing even louder, or enjoying solo dates and cozy nights on the couch.
She’s a lover of athleisure, movie theaters, dancing, and making connections with fellow readers and writers. That same energy shows up in her work, where every story feels like an invitation to fall a little bit in love.

Q&A
Tell me a little bit about your writing inspirations and/or how you got started.
I've been reading and writing my entire life. Literally, as long as I can remember I've wanted to be an author and/or work with books for forever, but I didn't start taking it seriously until later in my college career.
My favorite story to tell is about a professor of mine. Her name is Kathy, and she taught Human Resources, and the focus of our semester was to complete each project she gave us, without barely any directions, forcing us to use what spoke to us. For example, one project was to create a stamp out of cardboard and those foamy craft pieces. I made a symbol from the Lorien Legacies series. At the end of the semester, she took all of these projects we used our creativity on to compile a list of top ten career choices she felt were most fitting for us. At the time, I was going for education, and one day, she literally asked me, "Are you sure you want to go into teaching?" I literally scoffed because, of course, that's what I thought I wanted. But when she handed me that list of careers? The top eight all had to do with the literary world, with author being at the top. The bottom two? One had to do with animals, and the last one was teacher. After that, I started writing my first book, and I haven't looked back since.
She was right, and I owe her everything for inspiring me to take that leap of faith.
Could you share some insights into your writing process? Do you have any rituals or habits that help you stay productive and creative?
I like to describe my writing process as creatively chaotic. My actual writing process for each book is vastly different. Some, I outline ahead of time, but trust me, my outlines suck, and they also vary in how thorough they are. Others, I re-outline after developmental edits. And the rest? Completely pantsed.
Outside of that, my publishing process is always the same. I'm obsessed with spreadsheets, and I've created myself a publishing template that is pristine at this point. I'd say that there are numerous rituals and habits that help me with both productivity and creativity.
I'm a mood reader, so I'm always bouncing around to what is speaking to me, reading numerous books at once. I've since adapted that into my writing practice. I work on multiple projects at once, spending most of my time on what is speaking to me, which helps me get multiple projects done almost at once.
Not forcing things all the time is so helpful.
How do you connect with your readers? Do you have any memorable interactions or experiences with fans that stand out to you?
Oh my gosh—in as many ways as I can. I love interacting with readers on social media, through both comments and DMs, and in my Discord. I also love meeting readers at events and out in public. One of my favorite things of all time is actually talking to, and hanging out with, readers. So, please, readers, reach out to me at any time! I love it!
Here are three of my top "fan" experiences so far. One was a DM from a reader who told me that she had read my debut TWICE in a row, and that it had gotten her into superheroes. She had even gone on to binge The Flash with her husband. That made me so happy. So incredibly happy. I think of her often. My second one was when someone asked to take their picture with me. OMG. Like, ME?! You want your picture with me?! Okay, lol. And my third was at another event, where a reader pointed at my newest release and was like, "That was you?! You wrote that? OMG, I loved it!" I wanted to cry!
Readers, this is your confirmation that we eat these interactions up, and they inspire us to keep going.
What advice would you give to new writers?
My three pillars are to keep reading, keep writing, and keep learning. With writing, there is always room for improvement, and there are so many courses and resources and people to learn from out there. My top recommendations are always Publish & Thrive by Sarra Cannon and The Writer's Roadmap by Tomi Adeyemi. On top of that, reading is not only something us writers love, but it continues to help us grow. Not only can you enjoy reading a story, but you can notice how other authors use punctuation, or what dialogue tags you enjoy, etc. And of course, the writing portion...You have to keep going with that. You should be writing every week. It's just like anything else. The more you do it, the better you get.
Even when it's hard, keep going.
What future projects or ideas are you excited about? Can you give us a sneak peek into what you’re working on next?
I have SO many releases set for this year and next, I'm not sure how I'll pull them off, but hey, I'm going for it. LOL. As of right now, I have four releases planned for this year (a rose shifter novella, the first of a novella duology, the sequel to my superhero romance debut, and the third mate-cute alien novella).
2027 is my year of shared worlds, apparently. I have five releases planned for next year, actually (one alien romance novel that's part of a shared world, two paranormal romance novels that are both part of different shared worlds, the second of my novella duology, and a special omnibus of smutty monster shorts I've been posting monthly on my REAM platform).
I'm super excited about every single project, and I feel like I might have bitten off more than I can chew, but I work well under pressure, so we will see how this goes. HAHAHA!
