Meet Michele Elizabeth
For readers who love romance that’s spicy, emotional, and a little chaotic in the best way, it’s time to meet Michele Elizabeth—an author turning real-life messiness into stories you won’t want to put down.
Michele writes the kind of romance that feels raw, real, and unapologetically fun. Her stories are packed with heat, heart, and characters who aren’t perfect—but feel all the more relatable because of it. Inspired by her love of steamy reads (and the book community that pulled her in), she now crafts character-driven stories with just enough edge to keep things interesting.
By night, Michele works as an operating room nurse. By every other spare moment, she’s writing romances that will absolutely keep you up past your bedtime. Somewhere in between, she’s balancing life in Southern California with her husband (her real-life book boyfriend), their adult child, five cats with big personalities, and one very patient dog.
A self-proclaimed homebody, Michele is happiest curled up with her Kindle and a strong cup of coffee—but when the weather’s right, you might find her out on a paddleboard…or being lovingly dragged out of the house by her husband. (Compromise, right?)

Q&A
Could you share some insights into your writing process? Do you have any rituals or habits that help you stay productive and creative?
I don’t know if my process helps or hurts me (LOL). I’m very particular and like to write first thing in the morning at my desk in my office. If I don’t follow my routine, the whole day is lost. BUT when I do stick to my schedule, I am unstoppable so maybe it all balances out.
What have been the most rewarding moments in your writing journey? Conversely, what challenges have you faced, and how did you overcome them?
Hitting publish on my first book was such a surreal experience. I felt a huge sense of accomplishment and relief that it was finally out in the world. But I think my favorite moments so far were from when I attended my first big book event. When I was an attending author at Wild and Windy West this past February, it was like a dream. I met so many amazing people, made what I’m sure will be life-long friends, and had readers come there just to see me. Talk about an out of body experience! I laughed and I cried (a lot). It was an emotion couple of days, but I think the hightlight for me was when a reader brought a book from home for me to sign. Fucking wild. And I’m tearing up now just thinking about it.
As far as the challenges go…there are so many. As an indie author, you have to handle EVERYTHING on your own. I had to learn every step from others. I’m so thankful for my online community of authors I’ve met that I can bounce ideas off of and ask questions of. In the very beginning I knew nothing, but now I’m able to help others with things I struggled with in the beginning and that’s been really great.
What advice would you give to new writers?
Just do it. Honestly, I waited most of my life to do this and I wish I’d started sooner. I’d always had stories rumbling around in my head and wasn’t brave enough to write them down until I was over 40! Just think of the stories I’d have written if I let them out sooner.
What are some of your all-time favorite books, and why do they resonate with you? Are there any lesser-known gems you'd recommend to fellow readers?
I love so many books and authors! Some of my favorites are Kate Stewart, Megan Quinn, Sadie Kincaid, Navessa Allen, Sara Cate, Laurel Biel, Tylor Paige, and Kay Cove. My taste for romace really runs the gammit from romcoms to horror, but all of the authors have relatable characters and writing that makes me feel totally immersed in their worlds.
Some recent indie authors that I’ve read and loved just as much are Ashley Claire, Lindsey Montgomery, Nicole Lenz, and Allison Bettes. Definitely check them out! (LM - I promise I didn’t ask her to name me. HA!)
What do you wish people/readers knew about you?
While I have ridiculous social anxiety, I still love when readers come up and say hi to me! I’ve gotten DMs from readers after they saw me in the wild saying they were too nervous to come say hi in person and I want them to know, I’m just as nervous, but meeting readers, grabbing a selfie and a hug are some of my favorite things!
What future projects or ideas are you excited about? Can you give us a sneak peek into what you’re working on next?
Oh I am chomping at the bit to get started on book four of Seasons of Love (aka Daddy’s book), but it’s on hold while I’m working on Rules & Reservations which is part of a shared world project called Blush: Mountain Resort! R&R will be a why choose, bi-awakening, rom-com set at an exclusive mountain resort where you come (wink, wink), and your secrets stay. I’m so freaking excited for it to come out on October 6th!
